Skye is a flutist, freelance musician, and Albuquerque flute teacher who has completed her Master’s degree in music and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in music performance, continuing her passion for music and education in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Originally from North Carolina, she cultivated her love for music at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts before earning a BA in music from West Virginia University.
Based in Albuquerque, Skye offers private flute lessons in Albuquerque, NM, in-person music instruction, and school flute sectionals, helping students of all ages develop their musical skills with a professional flutist and experienced woodwind instructor. She has performed with the New Mexico Philharmonic and Chatter, and serves as the Personnel Manager for the NMPhil, coordinating musicians and supporting the orchestra’s performances across the region.
During her Master’s program, Skye was a graduate assistant and a member of the University of New Mexico’s Graduate Wind Quintet, The Enchantment Winds, performing regularly and participating in community outreach concerts to bring live chamber music to schools and local audiences.
With a commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement, Skye strives to enrich the cultural vibrancy of Albuquerque and New Mexico, inspiring the next generation of musicians through performance, education, and community music outreach.
